Delete your account

You can delete your Kintsu account and everything stored with it at any time. This page explains how, whether or not you still have the app installed. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

1. In the app (fastest)

Open Kintsu and go to Settings → Delete Account Permanently. Confirm, and your account and all of its data are deleted immediately.

2. Without the app

You do not need to reinstall Kintsu to delete your account. Email privacy@kintsu.ink from the email address your account uses, with the subject "Delete my account". We will confirm and complete the deletion within one month, and usually much sooner.

If you used Kintsu in anonymous mode (without creating an account), there is no email address linked to your data, so we cannot match it to a request. Delete your data from inside the app before uninstalling. If you have already uninstalled, the identifier that connected your device to the data has been removed, and the account can no longer be accessed by anyone.

3. What gets deleted

Deleting your account removes your account itself and every user-linked record we hold, as described in our privacy policy: saved quotes, quotes you wrote, collections, the record of quotes already shown to you, interactions, mood check ins, Oracle prompts and outputs, entitlements, and your notification token.

4. What we keep

If you made a purchase, we keep basic transaction records for as long as UK tax and accounting law requires (currently six years). These records do not include your card details, which we never see.

5. Subscriptions

Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription, because subscriptions are managed by Google Play, not by us. Cancel first from the Google Play subscriptions page, then delete your account.
